ACRYLIC PAINTINGS

These are my most up to date paintings. I’ve been getting very technical with my painting and very dark with the subject matter. I’ve always been very into horror in all its forms and its time to let the beast out of it’s cage. Some of these paintings deal with nuclear Armageddon. Others deal with how the perception of physical horror can reflect the ugliness within ourselves. Many deal with the subject of halloween and you can expect this subject to recur again and again. Enjoy!

Next  is an ongoing exploration into Good and Evil.  I chose to explore the relationship between these ancient enemies by picking something inherently Good, wholesome and naive (the common egg) and placing inside them horrid things you’d never expect to find there, things that sully and defame the simplicity of natures building block of life.  The juxtaposition of the elements in the paintings has really allowed me to explore the more political side of my personality.  If one has a voice, one should use it.  So far the series delves into the ‘what if’ side of Nuclear Winter, extrapolating what new plantlife might look like after the fallout and I also unveil the subject of misogyny in religion.

I hope you like what you see.  Please stay tuned for more paintings in this series.

Last but not least is a series of paintings related to the topic of alcoholism.  Alcohol is such an invasive and ingrained part of our society that a lot of us have a problem with it before we even realize whats happened.  Alcohol gets used as a crutch to shoulder problems we’d like to pretend don’t exist.  That white elephant standing in the corner of the room quickly becomes a pink one and that’s when the real trouble starts.  In this series I’ve tried to capture some of the dehumanizing effects of alcoholism from the physical harshness of the abuse to the psychological damage.  Alcohol becomes a barrier.  Alcohol becomes a weapon; leaves us dwelling in the dirt rather than achieving our potential greatness.

Enjoy the works and don’t hesitate to drop me a comment or two about them.  Also, if you see something you really like, make me an offer.  All pieces are for sale.
