Custom Stretcher Frames
I make custom stretcher frames for canvas. I produce double-thick style stretchers only. They are screwed, glued and nailed together. This makes the stretchers more ridge and less prone to warping when canvas shrinks during priming. They also take on an architctural feel giving added dimension to your work.

Clear pine and quarter round stripping are the basic materials I use. In this configuration the canvas will always be free of obstructions from behind the stretcher. Many commercially made canvases are stretched loosely allowing parts of the stretcher frame to intrude onto the front of the canvas during painting, especially if an artist is heavy-handed with their brush work. This defect of pre-fab canvases can leave unsightly lines and impressions on your work, ruining it. My stretchers will never have this problem.

I can make just about any size you like (within reason) and I can make any number you like with quick turn around time. My prices are reasonable and I’m willing to make a deal if you’ve got a large order. E-mail me today for a quote!
