NWT Arts Council Contributions support and encourage the continued development of visual, literary and performing arts in the NWT. An important component of arts funding in most Canadian jurisdictions is that funding decisions be made at arms-length from government. The Council is mandated to promote the arts and to make recommendations to the Minister on financial awards, issues and policies associated with the arts and artists.
